Figments of Imagination (BSC)

A literary publication produced by students during spring semester English course. The semester focuses on call for entries, judging and selection of work, design and production of the publication and organizing an open mic night, public reading and collaborative musical performances. Began in 1992.

BSC packs late spring with guest artists and student talent for a month-long celebration of the performing, visual and literary arts. Campus Read

Campus Read is designed to promote reading and communication on campus and in the community. Public and campus discussions of the book take place during the school year, and are the topic of a variety of class projects, including in several online classes. 2004 – 2005 the BSC’s first campus read was Montana 1948 by Larry Watson.

Mystic Memories is an online collection of yearbooks, publications, images and histories of Bismarck Junior College and Bismarck State College. This will be an ever changing collection as new items are added and our college continues to grow. From the third floor of Bismarck High School in 1939 to our present campus and beyond, we welcome you to visit our collection.

ABOUT THE BSC ARCHIVES

Mission

The mission of the Bismarck State College Archives is to collect, preserve, arrange and make available important historical and social records of the College and to keep a primary source record of the events of preceding years and thoughts of past generations.

General Use Policy

Materials available in the Archives are subject to copyright law with respect to photo duplication and publication. Researchers are asked to respect the material by handling it correctly and carefully. Like the Library, the Archives supports the research needs of currently enrolled students, current faculty, administrators and staff. In addition, BSC alumni, former faculty and staff, and others are welcome to use the collection.

Scope

The Archives is specifically concerned with the administrative and historical records of Bismarck State College from its beginnings in 1939 to the present day. Among the materials collected are:
